Direct Bank Connections work in conjunction with the Bank Activity Screen. Think of the Direct Bank Connections as a replacement to the 'Upload Activity' function.  In place of downloading a file from your financial institution, then uploading it in to Bank Activity, now you will be able to pull the transaction data directly in to Bank Activity from your financial institution.

Bank Accounts with Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

When using R365 Direct Bank Connections with Bank Accounts utilizing Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), it may be necessary to re-authenticate each time you retrieve Bank Activity. Click here for more information on Bank Accounts with Multi-factor Authentication.

Step 1 - Select Bank Account

In the previous article, Connecting Bank Accounts, your connected accounts were linked to your Bank Account Records in R365. This action now allows you to simply select the Bank Account in the Bank Account selector on the Bank Activity Screen.

Once selected, the 'Connection Status' of the Account will update below the 'Retrieve Activity' button.

  • Note the following:
    • Unable to Retrieve Activity - You might have a Connection Status of 'Connected', but be unable to retrieve activity. If this is the case, and the Connection Status says 'Connected' (or if it says 'Not Connected'), you can use the 'Manage Bank Connections' prompt to verify that the selected Bank Account has been linked to a connected account. Open the 'Manage Bank Connections' prompt and click 'Add Bank' to open the Connections Manager. If your credentials have changed, you will be prompted to update them.

  • Account Refresh - If an account needs to refresh, a 'Linked Accounts' modal will appear showing that the linked account has been refreshed, as displayed below. Click 'Close' to retrieve its bank activity.

Step 2 - Retrieve Activity

Click the 'Retrieve Activity' button to retrieve the last 10 days worth of transactions from your financial institution:

Note: If you click 'Retrieve Activity' and nothing happens, your Bank Account may require Multi-factor Authentication. Click here for more information on Bank Accounts with Multi-factor Authentication

If you need to retrieve a larger date range than 10 days, click the edit button to the right of the 'Retrieve Activity' button to open a date range selector:

Set the Start Date and End Date then click 'Retrieve Activity' to download you desired date range of data:

Your Bank Activity transactions will be automatically downloaded and imported into the Bank Activity Screen. Continue to interact with your data as you usually would using Bank Activity.

Note: If you click 'Retrieve Activity' and nothing happens, your Bank Account may require Multi-factor Authentication. Click here for more information on Bank Accounts with Multi-factor Authentication.
