Downloading the Tip Distribution Export
For payroll purposes, it is recommended to only use tip distribution exports for approved tip distributions. For review purposes, tip distribution exports for unapproved distributions can also be downloaded.
On both the Tip Automation page and on the Tip Distribution Details page, clicking the 'Export' icon 
for the desired tip distribution will download the associated Tip Distribution Export. Learn more about exporting tip distributions here.
Tip Distribution Export
The tip distribution export contains two tabs with tip distribution totals by employee. These two tabs can be exported as a single file from the Tip Automation page, or as separate files from the Tip Distribution Details page.
Contributors
| Column | Column Title | Description |
| A | Name | Contributing employee's name |
| B | Job | Contributing employee's job associated with the contributed tips |
| C | Net Sales | Net sales associated with the employee during the hours associated with the tip automation rule |
| D | Declared Tips | Cash tips not associated with a sales ticket and declared by the employee during the hours associated with the tip automation rule. |
| E | POS Cash Tips | Tips received by the employee on sales tickets tendered to cash during the hours associated with the tip automation rule. |
| F | POS Card Tips | Tips received by the employee on sales tickets tendered to credit or debit card during the hours associated with the tip automation rule. |
| G | Merchant Discount | Tips withheld to cover credit card processing fees. Learn more about Merchant Discount calculations here. |
| H | Total Tips | Total tips used for the distribution. The tip automation rule 'Declared tips paid with payroll' setting has the following impacts on 'Total Owed': If the 'Declared tips paid with payroll' setting is enabled, this amount will be: POS Cash Tips + POS Card Tips+ Declared Tips If the 'Declared tips paid with payroll' setting is not enabled, this amount will be: POS Cash Tips + POS Card Tips |
| I | Tips Out | Tip contribution amount of 'Total Tips' or 'Net Sales', as calculated by the tip automation rule. |
| J | Balance Applied | Tips Out shortfall from previous days. |
| K | Tips Owed | Amount of tips still owed to the employee after the 'Tips Out' and 'Balance Applied' amounts have been contributed. Total Tips - Tips Out - Balance Applied Note: The minimum amount for tips owed is $0.00. A negative tips owed amount will result in a contribution shortfall that will be carried over to future distributions in the 'Balance Applied' column. This does not impact the total amount distributed to receiving employees. |
