Employee records in Smart Ops are being updated throughout Q3 and Q4 of 2024. This article reviews the changes between the legacy layout and the new layout.

Employees Page


The Employees page is receiving a small facelift to add color-coded app access statuses and additional columns.

Column Changes


The following columns have been added:

  • Employment Status

  • Departments

  • Jobs

  • Employee ID

  • Primary FLSA Status

  • Legacy Employee ID

  • Birthday


The following columns have been removed:

  • First Name

  • Last Name



Merging Employee Records


The process for merging employee records is being improved with a merge wizard. Employee records are now merged through the Bulk Edit menu, allowing for merging up to 20 records at a time. The Employee Merge wizard provides more control over what data is kept in the final employee record after the merge.

Fields with multiple options from the merging records can be edited by selecting the correct option from the drop-down menus.




The merge wizard has the following sections:

  • User Profile

  • Identification

  • Contact Info

  • Emergency Contact Info

  • Jobs

  • Employment Info

  • Labor Settings

  • Schedule



Employee Record Header


The header of employee records will now show the employee ID number, primary job, and primary location. The Merge button has been removed. Merging is now done through the Bulk Edit menu on the Employees page.

The Summary tab is new. This tab shows a snapshot of basic employee information found on the Basic Info and Employment tabs:
